In the third year of the Southern Song dynasty (1129), the capital was set in Hangzhou then also known as Lin'an, with jurisdiction over nine counties including Qiantang, Renhe, Lin'an, Yuhan... Lin'an is the first batch of national ecological construction demonstration cities with beautiful scenery.

The Hangzhou Marriott Hotel Lin'an is Marriott International's 14th accommodation in Hangzhou, but it is the first five-star hotel in the Lin'an district, located in the Chinese forest Silicon Valley (Qingshan Lake Science & Technology City). The hotel harbors local natural and cultural elements based on scenery, silk and bamboo traditions that have been integrated into the 300 guestrooms and suites, 12 multi-purpose conference rooms, 3 restaurants and 2 lounges. In addition to the functional warm lighting requirements, some of these natural and cultural elements are revealed under accent lighting.

An illuminated pendant in the main lobby floats down towards guests with a warm and silky wrapping welcome and leading them the front desk with, in its background, a small bamboo forest that also stretches on its flanks towards the ceiling and the lobby lounge.

The lobby features a control system that gives the hotel's management the flexibility to automatically follow a circadian time or manually change the illuminance if the need arises.

After the check-in procedure, guests discover in their room another interesting mix in the form of low-key luxury wood and linen elements and different headboards which are revealed through lighting with Jiangnan patterns as well as an integration between traditional roof tops and the modern skyline of Hangzhou skyscrapers.

For those who wish to enjoy meals in the hotel, there are three restaurants (Chinese restaurant, Korean restaurant, all-day dining) where guests are guided by high color rendering index lighting that focuses on international and local delicacies. The all-day dining restaurant even features interactive dining tables where food is cooked under one's nose thus creating a vibrant dining atmosphere.

After a busy day, guests can pamper themselves at the SPA or bathe in the warm water of the swimming pool. There, they will find spaces that are dim to deepen the private and relaxing experience and calm down without being disturbed by uncomfortable lighting.
