The site administration with lighting and scene adjustment is not only the last step of in the entire lighting design process, but also a crucial step, which directly determines the final outcome of the original lighting design.

Staggered renovation

SKP Beijing launched an overall interior renovation which also include the lighting for its public areas which started at the end of 2014. Being among the top 10 luxury department store by sales per square foot worldwide. The challenge of the renovation was to operate business as usual with a staggered renovation floor by floor and area by area. The team from LDPi was engaged in this renovation starting from the light focusing on the luxury goods sold in the concession islands of the 4th floor and food court in the basement 1 all of which took 3 designers 10 nights (from midnight until 5 in the morning) to focus 3,121 lights. The scope of work was gradually extended to other public areas of B1 (including SKP SELECT and Fashion Street), 1F, 2F, 3F (including the SPA, women’s lingerie and Saks Fifth Avenue); 4F Rendez-Vous; 5F (only for Home Select, Cousteau restaurant, Card Center and Children’s Toy area and Nursing Rooms) and 6F (including the Beijing Kitchen).
