Investigation on China’s Current Urban Lighting Environment - Shanghai

The one-and-half-day investigation on China’s current urban lighting environment in Shanghai successfully drew an end on May 11th, 2013. The event aims to investigate the present state and problems in environment lighting in major cities in China, to provide reference for future lighting design and to promote and guide its development. The outcome will be published to promote energy-saving lighting design and the wider application of energy-saving products.


During the activity, the team was divided into 3 subgroups to record and investigate the façade lighting of major buildings, public lighting and etc. along 3 different routes covering Lujiazui, the Bund and Nanjing Road by taking pictures, on-site measurement, recording and hand sketches. The findings were finalized and analyzed. Directors of China Illuminating Engineering Society (CIES), Professor YUAN Jiao and Mr. SHEN Yingjiu and many other experts in the field together with media joined the report session.
