The Delta Business School is located on Haojing Street in the Haizhu District of Guangzhou, Guangdong province, adjacent to the Canton Tower landmark along the Zhujiang River. With this unique location, the Delta Business School is committed to advancing the world of education by summarizing, disseminating business knowledge and developing leadership talents.
The lighting design intent is to bring a comfortable and efficient lighting in all the areas in the scope of work of the Guangzhou Delta Business School for the teachers, staff, students and guests with illuminances, functionality and energy saving requirements that match national standards. The building is an axial symmetric structure with a total of seven floors. The overall modern style of the interior design prioritizes light colors while incorporating natural elements such as wood and marble lit under 4000K lighting.
In reference with the shape of a round clock, the central lobby incorporates circular elements from the ground to the ceiling with a decorative spiralling pendant and cove lights that invite guests to never stop discovering knowledge and living in the moment.
The multi-function banquet hall on the top floor provides sufficient space for students to conduct exchanges, discussions and banquets. The large chandelier under the dome sets off the gorgeous and solemn atmosphere. The regularly installed spotlights on the bottom of the dome provide supplementary lighting for the space in a surrounding form, and the decorative lights at the top of the columns are combined with the building structure to visually enrich the space.
In the amphitheater classroom, downlights are integrated into ceiling channels to provide proper illuminance over students' desktops while the ceiling cove light emphasize the curved shape of the classroom. Considering energy saving, a separate circuit controls lights that are close to the window.
In medium size classrooms, the ceiling structure allows a full integration of LED panels with high color rendering index controlled with multiple scenes based on teaching’s requirements.
In the small classrooms, while LED pendants with down light emission provide sufficient illumination over the tables and up light keeping the ceiling partly lit, ceiling recessed down light provide functional lighting for the corridors and whiteboard.
Corridors not only allow people flow, they also allow students to take a break and share knowledge under down lights.
After class, the restaurant located in the basement floor allows students to enjoy delicious food lit under carefully placed light according to dining tables.
