The Delvaux Sanlitun Taikoo Li store moved and was upgraded in May 2021. It is still located in the Sanlitun Taikoo Li North area in the Chaoyang District of Beijing, but it is now in the Unit N3-12A, adjacent to the old location. Some of the furnitures and lighting fixtures were reused where possible while keeping  the consistent interior style of Delvaux.

Delvaux was created in Brussels by the innovative Charles Delvaux in 1829 with a very long history. For hundreds of years, Delvaux has always adhered to the classic craftsmanship of leather goods design and it was granted the title of "Purveyor to the Court" by King Leopold II in 1883.

LDPi’s wonderful lighting story with Delvaux started from the cooperation with VUDAFIERI-SAVERINO PARTNERS (VSP), for the interior lighting design of the Beijing SKP B1F Select. After this smooth and pleasant cooperation, when the old Delvaux Sanlitun Taikoo Li store encountered a lighting problem, VSP immediately contacted LDPi for advices.

In the early spring of 2018, LDPi helped solve a problem with some of the transformers through on-site investigation. In January 2019, LDPi was very honored to have the opportunity to cooperate with VSP and Delvaux for its Beijing World Trade Center store. At that time, LDPi strived to strengthen its cooperation with VSP with quick response time while maintaining a high level of respect for the interior design principles. The communication between VPS and LDPi was a key factor to ensure that VSP and Delvaux’s expectations for the lighting effect could be ultimately achieved. Furthermore, various lighting experiments with products from local lighting manufacturers were carried out before the final on-site adjustments to fine tune the lighting effect.

In 2021 came the opportunity to participate in the lighting design for the upgrade of the Delvaux Sanlitun Taikoo Li store. Because of the success of the experimentation of wall washing the feature wall on the second floor conducted in the old store on March 16, 2019 with horizontal LED linear lights to compare the effect with the original lighting from the second floor’s ceiling, LDPi confidently used that design with both horizontal linear LED up-and-down wall wash effect to reveal the details of the feature wall on the second floor of the display window.

The Delvaux Beijing Sanlitun Taikoo Li store designed by VSP is a continuation of the Delvaux brand story,  boutique positioning and is committed to creating a comfortable shopping experience. The lighting design uses lighting fixtures with high color rendering as to better present the exquisite details of leather goods.

The interior of the store is mainly composed of two areas. Due to their different functions, their illuminances are also different. The illuminance of the lobby at the entrance is high and eye-catching while the VIP area is slightly lower in terms of illuminance and relaxing.

In the lobby, below the soft unique ceiling with curved edges revealed by the linear LEDs installed in the cove lights are the  bags displayed on the central floor stools with mirror-like finishes that echo with those that wrap the horizontal display glass panels with integrated mini LED linear lights. In order to better present the exquisite details of the goods, the lighting design also refers to the "shadowless light"  principle to provide illumination from multiple angles.

The design of the VIP area brings an atmosphere different from most commercial stores. This area allows more in-depth customer experience and interaction with the texture of the goods in a comfortable and relaxing and refined environment where the lighting is both focused and dimmed accordingly.

Even though each Delvaux store each unique, the consistent pursuit of providing timeless classic craftsmanship luxurious leather goods reveal through "texture" is what the the interior design and the lighting design support Delvaux for.

Furthermore, for LDPi, the Delvaux Beijing Sanlitun Taikoo Li store carries a strong and signigficant meaning by confirming that “What goes around comes around”. Therefore, LDPi hereby wishes to thank Delvaux and VSP for their respective patronage and continuous support.
