Children of the Liuba mountain area spent their first week of English course in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. Having already excellent quality, they have gained more knowledge from the Giraffe "English Character Camp" and through National Geographic, thet learned about space and planets, the change of natural seasons and animals’ different characteristics. They really feel the first-class English language education in Shanghai. They learned more than just English language here, they also learned to communicate and share in the learning process, and exercised the ability to solve problems cooperatively.

During the weekends, the children seemed still as excited as their first day in Shanghai. One week of English lessons did not make the children tired. Contrarily, they were more energetic, and they couldn't wait to participate in the weekend’s activities. They couldn’t wait when they heard that “Uncle” Xu Qing, BEST Fund volunteer, would lead everyone to visit a museum on the first weekend, a visit planned for a long time. Finally they all could meet.

Everyone was shocked by the realistic models and cool scenes. They looked at things they had never seen before, and their eyes were full of excitement and curiosity. Being able to see these new things in the best flowering season enriched their experience and stimulated their curiosity and exploration of things. It was also motivation that allowed them to continue learning independently.
Explaining
In order to satisfy the children's curiosity about the exhibitions in the museum, “Uncle” Xu Qing specially arranged a beautiful interpreter sister to "reveal the secrets" for the children. The questions about new objects in the museum were answered one by one, "Oh，really？It's awesome!" Thus they gained knowledge in joy.
In addition to visiting the museum, the children also went to Fudan University, the first college founded by the Chinese. The word "Fudan" is selected from the famous sentence "The sun and the moon raise the day after day” in the Commentary of the Book of History, the Biography of Yu Xia, which means "Keep improving and rejuvenate China". The adolescent children felt the history glory of the Fudan University. A: The BEST Fund started in June 2009. Tewa Srilaklang (chairwoman of the Beijing Liang Dian Design Center), Tang Zhi (chairman of Shanghai Giraffe English Training Center), and Dominique Phommahaxay, general manager of LDPi Lighting Design Partnership International (China Branch) teamed up with primary schools in Liuba County, Shaanxi Province to annually select outstanding students in financially challenged rural area and send them to the Giraffe English Training Center in Xuhui District, Shanghai for a unique 1-month summer camp.
