The phase 1 of the Zhongguancun Xisanqi Jinyu Science and Technology Park is located in the Northeast corner of the Beijing Haidian district, at the intersection between Jiancaicheng West road and Jiancaicheng Middle road. It is nearby the G6 Jingzang Expressway in the West and the Olympic Forest North Park in the South. The Yuxin subway station on line 8 is only 1.5 kilometers away while the Huoying subway station on line 13 is 1.7 kilometers away.

This science and technology park stands out from others as Aedas shaped the buildings as a merger between the verticality of ancient bamboo slips used from the Shang dynasty wrapping the buildings and the waviness of technology advancements represented by time pulsation found in the curvy vertical and horizontal carves.

LDPi took the opportunity to not only reveal the verticality of these bamboo slips and these curves, but also to differentiate them based on color temperatures according to the specific colors of the curtain wall (4000K is associated with silver and gray, while 3000K is used with beige). Mockups were necessary to fine tune installation details to ensure the actual lighting effect would match the lighting design intent (see drawing below). 

Being both an office and commercial building, preselected colors were added to the facade lighting on building T6, which thus differentiates itself from the rest.

Considering the surrounding residential buildings, the illuminance level is set on two levels: the massivity of buildings T1 to T5 combined leads to a lower level setting, while the smaller T6 is set at a medium setting making it a focal point.

When night falls, the lighting is a testimony of a harmonious coexistence between ancient culture and advanced technology where history is fully integrated into the present and the future.
