On June 14th, 2016, after a 12-hour journey, the BEST Fund Team from Shanghai and Beijing arrived at the Madao Primary School in Liuba County, Shaanxi Province.
In the morning, English teachers from Shanghai Giraffe English Training Center used the theme of "superhero is you" to combine the three teaching methods: manual lessons, outdoor games, creative T-shirt painting with English lessons skillfully, and the three methods were spread among three different classes. Children found those teaching methods interesting and appealing lessons.

In the afternoon, the staff of LDPi Lighting Design Partnership International and LiangDian Design Center brought a creative design class. During the class children showed their rich imagination and creativity under the guidance of designers, they turned the ordinary egg trays into colorful lights.
After the course, Ms. Yu Bing, representing BEST Fund, offered new English books to Mr. Pang Renyuan (principal of Madao Primary School in Liuba County) to be included in the school’s library and available for children to borrow and read.
Finally, the teachers from Giraffe English Training Center selected outstanding students based on a transparent and fair process that evaluates students according to their grades, personality and household status: Chen Hao, Feng Fangchun , He Yukai , Luo Lin，Qian Ruoyun , Song Jiahao , Yang Shiyu and Zhang Jingshi.
Fund Exchange and Learning activity ended successfully thanks to the strongly support of Shanghai Giraffe English Training Center, the warm assistance of the Education and Sports Bureau of Liuba County and the cooperation of Madao Central Primary School.

A: The BEST Fund started in June 2009. Tewa Srilaklang (chairwoman of the Beijing Liang Dian Design Center), Tang Zhi (chairman of Shanghai Giraffe English Training Center), and Dominique Phommahaxay, general manager of LDPi Lighting Design Partnership International (China Branch) teamed up with primary schools in Liuba County, Shaanxi Province to annually select outstanding students in financially challenged rural area and send them to the Giraffe English Training Center in Xuhui District, Shanghai for a unique 1-month summer camp. This self-organized public welfare education project has also received great attention and support from the Liuba County Education and Sports Bureau.
